The book "The little
Mermaid" is my favorite story because it reveals adventure tale that
depict the real love between the mermaid and the prince. Genre is useful for
studying the different elements of story among a wide range of books and styles.
Understanding genres expands our understanding of the huge variety of
children's literature.
The genre of this story
is popular widely, it classified to romance, adventure, classic, fantasy, and
fairy tale. The characters are decree as animals; they act some emotions and
conflicts actions between the mermaid and the witch. The story revolved around
the agreement between the mermaid and the witch. The witch transforms the
mermaid to a human being in order to begin love the prince in return the witch will
use the mermaid's voice to grab the prince attention to her beautiful voice and
fell in love with him. The illustration of the story depicts the life under the
water and the conflicts between the evil and human.
I like this book because
it my favorite genre, and it has a colorful images and tales. It has plenty of
emotions and real love between the mermaid and the prince. I also enjoy
watching the movie frequently. The story expresses human wishes, requirements,
and fears.
The classic genre is simple
to children’s mind. It establish across generations . It carries significant
theme that can be easy understanding to children's mind. The style affects
readers' reaction to the events and encourages children to have admiration to
this type of story. I had chosen Mermaid
story because it belongs to classic and fairy tale genre, which is my favorite
type, in addition, it tells adventure story and the theme is demonstrate in
clear way.
